| Those
of us who were blessed to spend time with Mandaza, when he was here
in September of 2006, heard him challenge this Dare' community to
reach out in a healing/ peacemaking way to the larger community. He
was noticing the abundance of delicious/sustaining food that was present
at our Dare' gatherings. He reminded us of how grateful we should
feel that we were so easily provided with such food. He reminded us
of the many people who do not have the luxury of “living to
eat” but rather, were challenged simply to acquire the food
necessary to “eat to live”.
So
began the “Eat To Live” project. Acting on behalf of
the Dare' community, many of us have committed to working with the
staff of the Noah shelter, in Hyannis, to provide nourishing meals
for the homeless who seek refuge there. Our goal is ultimately to
do this regularly on a monthly basis. |

Eat
to live works, as we come together as individuals, to become one
in our intention to share our loving and healing ways. We all have
the opportunity to contribute by providing funding, by food shopping,
by cooking, by serving, by attending ongoing planning meetings,
by sending energy and prayers, by fasting in solidarity, by any
means in which spirit moves us to participate.
Our endeavors
in Eat To Live, thus far, have been sincerely appreciated by those
we’ve been blessed to serve.
